About coffee and goats from Kaffa

The history of the discovery of coffee is shrouded in many legends. Most researchers agree that the wonderful invigorating properties of coffee berries were first discovered in Ethiopia in the 9th century.

According to one of the legends, the local shepherd Kaldim, grazing goats on the mountain slopes of the province of Kaffa, noticed how his goats were eating around the red berries of an unknown low-growing tree and came in playful excitement. For a long time the shepherd could not gather and calm the frolicking goats. Completely exhausted, he decided to try some berries and was surprised to find that fatigue passed instantly. Kaldim spoke about the miraculous case to the monks from a nearby monastery, and they began to experiment with the leaves and fruits of an amazing plant.

One can only guess whether this story is true ... Today it is known that coffee grows wild only in Ethiopia. Goats from Cuffa still savor its berries and come in a playful mood. And we continue to experiment with coffee berries and produce a great drink, invigorating the body and pleasing the spirit.
